As part of Rudai23 here is a summary on my life in the library world in Ireland

Leaving school attended NUIGalway and completed a BA.
Attended UCDublin and received a Diploma in Librarianship.

I was always interested in public service and started my public librarianship with Galway County Council as Assistant Librarian.

Experienced all areas of Galway library Service including:
  • Cataloguing and Classification
  • Book Intake Department and Accounts
  • Schools Library Department
  • Galway City Library
  • Branch Libraries Section

Promoted to Senior Executive Librarian

Presently A/County Librarian

Throughout my career have been actively involved with Library Association of Ireland including a number of years on its Executive Board.

Also with the Assistant librarians Section, now the Public library Section of LAI (for a time as Chairman)
Also actively involved with the Western Regional Section of the LAI being a former Secretary...

Member of the Library Association now Career Development Association UK
